How should you read speed benchmarks?
Speed decides who moves first when both moves share the same priority. This calculator lets you adjust one Pokemon's nature and Speed SP, then shows which neutral-max and positive-max benchmarks it can outspeed.
Open neutral/max speed examples
Neutral max means no Speed-boosting nature with max SP.
This is the benchmark for opponents that invested fully in Speed without using a Speed-positive nature.
Positive max means a Speed-boosting nature with max SP.
This is the fastest ordinary benchmark for that Pokemon. Passing it usually means moving first at the same priority.
A speed tie is not a safe outspeed.
When both speeds are equal, turn order is not reliable. For planning, aim to be at least one point faster.
Examples
Raise Speed SP from 20 to 28 and check which new neutral-max targets become outspeedable.
Switch between neutral and Speed-positive natures to decide whether the loss in damage is worth it.
Reading notes
- Benchmarks use the fixed Champions stat basis and same move priority.
- Choice Scarf, Tailwind, paralysis, and stat stages should be checked separately.
- If positive-max benchmarks are too far away, target neutral-max lines and move the remaining SP into damage or bulk.
