The type chart is the base map for battle decisions.
Rows are attacking move types and columns are single defending types. For dual types, multiply the two modifiers.

Find the attacking type in the row.
Start from the move type on the left, then read the cell where it meets the target's defending type.
Multiply dual-type modifiers.
A 2x result against one type and a 0.5x result against the other becomes 1x. Two 2x results become a 4x weakness.
Abilities and items are separate conditions.
This chart uses pure type rules. Ability immunities, item effects, weather, and field effects should be checked in detail pages or the calculator.
Examples
Read the target type column and prioritize move types marked as 2x.
Look for 0.5x or 0x results against the incoming move type.
Beginner tips
- Good type effectiveness is not enough by itself; check speed and actual damage too.
- A 4x weakness can matter more than a small stat difference.
- Immunities often create safe switch or pressure opportunities.
